All of world is a stranger
Bereft of their suffering.
Traveling side by side
Towards the illusion of a horizon.
Plying from point to point
In the search of a treasure chest.
Prying into each others’ lives
Lest they find a hidden clue.
Wearing a devious smile
As a solemn disguise.
Underneath the grassland
Lies an explosive coal mine.
